metrIQ is in open beta — every plan is half price for your first 6 months.

What Sophia can do

What metrIQ's AI coach handles, what she leaves to your doctor, and where her message limits sit.

Sophia is the coach you talk to inside metrIQ. She's an AI — built to sound like a knowledgeable friend rather than a form, but an AI all the same, and worth knowing the shape of what that means.

What she does

Sophia logs meals, workouts and weigh-ins from plain language. Tell her what you ate, what you trained, or what the scale said, and she works out the details — what to call it, roughly how many calories, when it happened — and records it. There's no form behind this: the conversation is the interface.

She also answers questions about your plan. Ask why your calorie target moved, what's left for the day, or how a food fits your macros, and she'll work from your real numbers rather than a generic answer. And she adjusts your targets when the situation calls for it — easing off with a planned break when a long stretch of dieting needs one, for instance, always within limits the app sets regardless of what either of you asks for.

What she doesn't do

Sophia isn't a medical professional, and metrIQ isn't a medical device. If you ask about symptoms, medication, or a condition, she won't diagnose or prescribe — she'll point you to a doctor or another qualified clinician instead. The same goes for anything that needs a professional's judgment about your body specifically: she can talk nutrition science in general, but she isn't the one making the call for your particular case.

She also won't help you push past the safety limits metrIQ already enforces — skipping meals, eating well below your target, or chasing a faster rate than your plan allows. She'll say so plainly and offer the sustainable version instead, rather than lecture you about it.

She remembers you

Sophia keeps context between messages — not only within one conversation, but across sessions. Preferences you've mentioned, patterns she's noticed, things you've asked her to remember: she carries those forward, so you don't have to re-explain your dietary restrictions or your bad knee every time you talk to her. She's sparing with it, though — a callback shows up when it's genuinely relevant, not as a running commentary on everything you've ever told her.

Message limits

Sophia's usage runs on an allowance tied to your plan, shown as a message counter once you're getting close to it. During your free trial the allowance is generous enough that almost nobody hits it. After that, how many messages you get and how often the allowance resets depends on your membership tier — free accounts get fewer messages a day than paid ones, and the highest tier counts by the month instead. If you're close to your limit, the counter tells you, with a link to see what more membership buys you.

None of this affects what's already logged — your diary, your trend, your history are all there regardless of how many messages you have left today.
