Terms of Service
Last updated: June 2026
1. Introduction and acceptance
By using metrIQ, you agree to these Terms of Service. metrIQ is operated by Z Development EE, a company registered in Greece. If any part of these terms doesn't work for you, please don't use the service.
2. What metrIQ is
2.1 What metrIQ does
metrIQ is an AI-powered nutrition and fitness app. You can log meals, weight, and workouts in plain language, and your AI coach, Sophia, gives you personalised feedback and suggestions based on what you log. The app estimates nutritional targets using established formulas combined with your stated goals.
2.2 What metrIQ is not
metrIQ is not a medical device, medical service, or healthcare provider. It cannot diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition, and it is not a substitute for professional medical advice.
3. Health and medical disclaimer
metrIQ provides general nutritional information and fitness tracking for educational and informational purposes only.
3.1 Consult your healthcare provider
Before making dietary changes, starting a fitness routine, or adjusting your nutrition — especially if you have a medical condition, take medication, are pregnant, or have any health concerns — consult a qualified healthcare professional.
3.2 Professional advice takes priority
If metrIQ's suggestions ever conflict with guidance from your doctor, nutritionist, or dietitian, follow your healthcare provider. They understand your individual situation; the app cannot.
3.3 Limitations of AI-generated content
Sophia aims for accuracy, but AI may produce errors, inaccuracies, or information that is not suitable for your specific situation. Macro calculations and meal suggestions are starting points, not definitive prescriptions.
3.4 Not for emergencies
metrIQ cannot help in a medical emergency. If you have one, contact your local emergency services immediately.
3.5 Individual results vary
Outcomes differ between people based on metabolism, commitment, underlying conditions, and lifestyle. We make no guarantees about specific outcomes or results.
4. Your responsibilities
4.1 Accurate information
You agree to provide truthful details about yourself, including weight, height, and age. Inaccurate information undermines the accuracy of your calculations and guidance.
4.2 Honest logging
Meaningful insights depend on accurate meal, workout, and weight entries that reflect your genuine habits.
4.3 Your own health decisions
You are solely responsible for your health decisions. metrIQ provides tools and information; you decide whether to act on them.
4.4 Age requirements
You must be 18 or older to use metrIQ. Younger users need parental or guardian permission, and users under 15 require parental consent under Greek Law 4624/2019.
5. Account terms
When you create an account, you're responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms, behave abusively, or misuse the platform.
6. Fair and sensible use
metrIQ — and Sophia in particular — is built for genuine personal coaching. Each conversation with Sophia carries a real cost to us, so we ask that you use her the way a person reasonably would: as a coach, not an always-on service to be run around the clock.
To keep metrIQ sustainable and fair for everyone, we reserve the right to monitor usage and to take proportionate action where an account's use of our AI features is excessive, automated, or abusive. This includes, for example, scripted or programmatic access, or sustained, round-the-clock interaction far beyond normal personal use that imposes disproportionate cost on us. In such cases we may:
- apply rate limits or otherwise throttle access to AI features;
- temporarily restrict or suspend AI features, your subscription, or your account;
- contact you to agree on reasonable usage, or, where appropriate, require a plan suited to higher usage.
We'll act reasonably and, where practicable, give you notice before restricting a paid subscription. These measures are about preventing abuse and runaway cost — not about limiting normal, everyday coaching.
7. Subscriptions and billing
metrIQ offers a free 14-day trial and paid monthly and yearly plans. Paid subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time, and cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. Your statutory rights as a consumer under Greek and EU law are unaffected.
8. Intellectual property
metrIQ's app, design, features, content, and the Sophia character are protected by intellectual property rights. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.
Content you generate within metrIQ — logged meals, notes, chat messages — remains yours. You grant us a licence to use this data to provide and improve the service, as described in our Privacy Policy.
9. Beta service
metrIQ is still in active development. Features may contain bugs, errors, or unexpected behaviour, may change without notice, or may be removed. Your feedback helps us improve.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
metrIQ is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. Nutritional calculations, macro targets, and AI suggestions are estimates and approximations; actual values may differ.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, metrIQ is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including lost profits, data, or goodwill — arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service, third-party conduct, AI-generated content, unauthorised access, or health outcomes from following any suggestion.
Our total liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the preceding twelve months or one hundred euros (€100). This limit does not apply to death or personal injury caused by negligence, to fraud, or to any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
12. Termination
You can stop using metrIQ at any time and request deletion of your account and data as described in our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate your access for breach of these terms, abusive behaviour, or activity we reasonably consider harmful.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. For significant changes, we'll notify you in the app or by email. Continuing to use the service after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Greece and the European Union, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. We'll try to resolve any dispute in good faith first; if that fails, the courts of Thessaloniki, Greece have exclusive jurisdiction. Your statutory consumer rights under Greek and EU law remain unaffected.
15. Severability
If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, it will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions stay in full effect.
