About metrIQ
metrIQ exists to put a coach who actually knows you within reach of anyone — because staying consistent was never about knowing what to do.
The problem
Knowing what to do was never the hard part. The advice is free and there is more of it than anyone could read: eat less, move more, be consistent. Almost none of it is wrong. Almost none of it helps either, because none of it is about you.
What actually works is a coach — someone who knows your history, watches what your body is doing rather than what a formula predicted, and tells you what to change this week. That has always cost hundreds a month, which is why almost nobody has ever had one. We think that is a distribution problem rather than a fact of life, and closing it is the only thing metrIQ is trying to do.
Our values
- Honesty
- We believe people can handle the truth, and are owed it.
- Compassion
- We believe nobody was ever shamed into a habit that lasted.
- Patience
- We believe the version of you six months from now matters more than the version six days from now.
- Affordability
- We believe coaching should be within reach of anyone, not a thing you have to be able to afford.
- Attention
- We believe advice that isn't about you isn't worth much.
How metrIQ makes money
metrIQ is independent. It is bootstrapped — no investors, no partners, and no growth targets set by somebody who has never used it.
It is paid for by subscriptions, which is the only arrangement where we earn more by you staying than by you being sold to someone else. There are no ads, and your data is never sold or traded. That last one is a commitment in our privacy policy, not a sentence on a page about ourselves.
A note from the founder
metrIQ started as a spreadsheet for my own training. The numbers were fine, but a spreadsheet never tells you anything — it only holds what you typed.
So I started asking ChatGPT instead. It could explain things, but it began from scratch every time, answered the same question differently on different days, and buried anything useful under generic advice. I wanted a coach who got to know me.
So I built one. The first version was a rough thing I put together mostly as an excuse to try a new tool. Then friends started using it, it actually helped them, and I rebuilt the whole app properly for launch.
I built the coach I wanted by my side. Not more information — someone who knew where I'd got to, and who was still there on the week it all went sideways.
