metrIQ is in open beta — every plan is half price for your first 6 months.

Billing, cancelling and your data

How the free trial works, how to cancel, and how to manage or delete the data metrIQ holds about you.

The free trial

Every account starts with a full-access free trial — no card required. You get the whole app, including a generous daily allowance of messages with Sophia, for two weeks. There's nothing to cancel during this window, because nothing has been charged.

When the trial ends

Once your trial is up, you choose a plan: a free tier that keeps working indefinitely with a smaller daily message allowance, or a paid membership with more room and a higher daily (or, on the top tier, monthly) allowance. If you pick a paid tier before your trial ends, it takes over automatically the day the trial finishes, and your first charge lands then — not before. Free isn't a holding pattern while you decide — it's a genuine option you can stay on for as long as you like, with everything else in metrIQ working normally.

Cancelling

If you're on a paid membership, cancelling is handled through the billing portal rather than a screen inside metrIQ itself — open your membership page and use Manage membership to get there. From the portal you can cancel, switch tiers, or update your card, without waiting on us to make the change for you. A cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, not immediately, so you keep what you've paid for until then; your membership page shows the exact date it ends.

What you keep after cancelling

Cancelling only ends the subscription — it doesn't touch your account or anything you've logged. Your diary, your weight trend, your pantry and your history with Sophia all stay exactly as they were; you drop back to the free tier's limits going forward. Nothing is deleted unless you delete it yourself.

Exporting or deleting your data

metrIQ's privacy policy covers what's collected and why in full. For deleting, Settings has a self-service option: Delete my account permanently erases your account and everything in it — weigh-ins, meals, workouts, and your conversations with Sophia — and cancels any active subscription in the same step. It asks you to type a confirmation first because it can't be undone.

If you'd like a copy of your data rather than its deletion, that isn't yet a self-service button in Settings — ask us and we'll get it to you directly.
