Using the pantry

Save the foods you eat often to your pantry for faster, more accurate logging.

Your pantry is a shortlist of foods you eat regularly, saved with their exact macros so logging them later takes seconds instead of a guess.

What it's for

Most people eat a fairly small rotation of foods on repeat — the same protein shake, the same lunch, the same go-to snack. Saving those to your pantry once means Sophia never has to estimate them again: when you mention a food that's already saved, she logs the real numbers you entered rather than her own best guess.

Adding a food

Open your pantry and add a food with its name, serving size, calories, protein, carbs and fat. All of these are required — a food without its full macros isn't useful to save, since the whole point is skipping the estimate later. You can edit or delete a saved food at any time; deleting it doesn't touch anything you've already logged with it, only future logging.

Why the serving size matters

The macros you save are for one specific serving — "100 g," "1 scoop," "1 bar," whatever you enter. When you tell Sophia you had that food, she logs the saved macros for that exact serving, not a scaled-up or scaled-down amount — so if you actually had double your usual portion, say so and mention the amount, and she'll estimate the difference rather than silently log the saved serving. Getting the serving size right when you save a food is what makes referencing it later actually accurate.

How it speeds up logging

Once a food is saved, mentioning it in chat is enough — Sophia matches your words against your pantry and uses the saved food if it finds a match, an estimate if it doesn't. There's nothing extra to do: the pantry works quietly in the background of ordinary logging, not as a separate step you have to remember.

A well-kept pantry pays off the most for the things you eat almost every day — worth the minute it takes to save them once.

Finding and managing what you've saved

Your pantry list is searchable by name, so it stays usable even once it has dozens of foods in it. Each saved food shows its calories and protein at a glance, with edit and delete controls right on the card — there's no separate "manage pantry" screen to hunt for. If a food's macros were wrong when you saved it, or the brand changed its recipe, editing it updates it for every future log; it won't rewrite anything you've already recorded with the old numbers, since those are snapshotted at the time you logged them.

An empty pantry isn't a problem — Sophia estimates perfectly well without one. The pantry is a convenience for your regulars, not a requirement for logging anything at all.
